Fun with Needles

Today the real fun begins! Stacy and I get to add two more shots to the routine. One of the needles looks a lot like this one. We will continue with all three shot for at least one week. Depending on our numbers, our doctor may have us continue with these shots until he is satisfied with the size and number of follicles produced by the ovaries.

Day One

Today we begin our journey. Although you could say it started a while ago when Stacy and I decided it would be nice to have a baby. After a period of trying on our own, we found ourselves seeking the help of the Center for Reproductive Medicine [http://www.ivf-minnesota.com/] -- a decision that eventually led us to choose IVF (in-vitro fertilization).

The process will involve a series of shots and medication. Today we start with shot number one. Thankfully it is a small subcutaneous needle. Stacy gets the short end of the stick on this one (no pun intended), but at least they are easing us into it.
